At UFC Fight Night at Apex in Las Vegas on July 15, an impressive card will debut inside the Octagon, highlighted by Nazim Sadykhov versus Terrance McKinney in a very interesting lightweight bout.
McKinney recently suffered his first knockout loss to Ismael Bonfim at UFC Fight Night: Atlanta on January 2 while Sadykhov has been unstoppable since making his UFC debut on Contender Series in June 2016.
Sadykhov has won seven of his eight professional fights with one loss – including an impressive third round TKO (doctor stoppage) over Evan Elder in his most recent bout. Training at Longo and Weidman MMA in Garden City, NY and two UFC fights under his belt (both notable wins), Sadykhov has averaged 5.17 significant strikes landed and 4.47 received during each UFC bout while boasting an 80% takedown defense rate.
McKinney is a fast-paced striker known for finishing his opponents early. He is hoping to rebound after suffering an unfortunate knockout loss to Ismael Bonfim in January. Based out of Spokane, WA, the 28 year-old McKinney has ended 8 of his 13 wins via submission and 5 via KO/TKO as well as only losing one of his five losses through submission.
Both fighters possess similar styles, yet Sadykhov is less skilled in wrestling by taking his opponents down 0.66 times every 15 minutes but successfully getting a takedown on 85% of all his attempts. McKinney on the other hand attempted 1.4 submissions per three rounds and is avoiding 83% of all takedown attempts from his adversaries.
