This weekend in Boston at the TD Arena, UFC 292 features a bantamweight bout between Mario Bautista and Da’Mon Blackshear, who steps in with less than a week to prepare. Bautista risks his undefeated streak against Blackshear, who is a far more dangerous opponent than Cody Garbrandt was.

Blackshear is the less explosive fighter here, but he more than makes up for it with his toughness and strength. His groundwork and performance over the weekend demonstrated his lethality and strength.
Due to his lack of exposure on major cards, Bautista is one of the UFC’s most underestimated competitors. The 30-year-old fighter who shares an MMA gym with UFC 292 main event contender Sean O’Malley has a lot to prove in this bout.
Among the best ground-based finishers in the world, Bautista is a fierce, kinetic forward. So far in his career, he is 12-2, with three knockouts and six submissions, three of which have come in the first round.
On Saturday night, he will be the smaller, shorter fighter in the octagon. Bautista lands 5.33 meaningful strikes per minute, making him one of the fastest fighters in the world. His takedown rate is 2.91 per 15 minutes, with a success rate of 68%.
The most active of the two fighters is Bautista. He has a high rate of fire in the striking game, with powerful kicks and quick hands, and he combines them with well-timed takedowns and excellent back-taking skills.
