On Saturday, June 8, 2024, at UFC Louisville, Jared Cannonier will face Nassourdine Imavov. Continue reading more articles like this for the most in depth martial arts analysis out there.
Jared Cannonier Analysis: Strong KO power
In December 2023, while getting ready for a fight with Roman Dolidze, Jared Cannonier (17-6) tore his MCL, which prevented him from competing. When Cannonier faces the rapidly improving Nassourdine Imavov this weekend at UFC Louisville, he will be looking to return to the Octagon, pick up where he left off, and increase his winning streak to three. Cannonier is now fully healthy. Since lowering his weight, middleweight competitor Jared Cannonier has been a formidable force. This weekend, Cannonier will take on Nassourdine Imavov of France in an attempt to regain title contention after winning four of his previous five fights. At 185 pounds, the Cannonier is as lethal as they come. Nine of his 17 victories have been obtained via knockout, with six of those knockouts occurring in his ten wins within the Octagon.
Nassourdine Imavov Analysis: Coming off a big win in his last fight
In February, Nassourdine Imavov (13-4) defeated Roman Dolidze via majority decision to record his best-yet victory in a main event. In this weekend’s main event at UFC Louisville, Imavov will be aiming for his biggest victory to date when he faces off against former title challenger Jared Cannonier. When Nassourdine Imavov met Sean Strickland in his first-ever main event spot, he appeared to be a breakout candidate. Regretfully, Imavov, like many others before him, gave in to Strickland’s pressure. Following that defeat, Imavov was able to return to winning ways, most recently stopping Roman Dolidze following a regrettable No Contest against Chris Curtis in the previous fight.
