Two teams will be aiming to move into the top half of the Bundesliga table when Augsburg hosts RB Leipzig on Saturday. Both teams drew 1-1 at the Augsburg Arena last season, which is why a lot of fans are expecting a very close encounter between these two teams once again.

In midweek, Fuggerstadter were eliminated from the DFB-Pokal after losing 5-2 at home to Bayern Munich. Maassen is hoping for a positive result for his side against Leipzig on Saturday, although he is aware that he again comes into the match as a victim.
Leipzig, meanwhile, have yet to win back-to-back league games this season, but travel to Augsburg on the back of three consecutive wins in all competitions. A 2-0 win away to Celtic put them back in the Champions League with a chance to reach the round of 16, while Hertha Berlin and Hamburger SV have been defeated in the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal, respectively, in the last week.
Marco Rose’s side were 3-0 up at halftime against Hertha last weekend, but goals from Dodi Lukebakio and Stevan Jovetic shortly after the hour mark put the final nail in the coffin at the Red Bull Arena. Rose was pleased that his team showed character and took all three points.
A win in Bavaria on Saturday would move Leipzig back into the top half of the table, although they go into the weekend just two points off the Champions League qualification places, which would be a perfectly fitting end for them this season after suffering a troubled start to the campaign that led to Rose’s appointment.
