In the following round of matches for the 2023–24 Bundesliga season, Augsburg will face Hoffenheim inside the WWK Arena on Saturday.

In their most recent game, they overcame a two-goal deficit to defeat high-flying Bayer Leverkusen 3-2, only for their opponents to get the third and decisive goal 20 minutes from the end. After spending most of the previous season fighting to avoid relegation, Matarizzo was appointed manager in February to keep Die Kraichgauer afloat, they will be happy to have secured a Europa League qualifying berth after 10 games. They have won 3 and lost 3 of their previous 6 games, which is understandable given how young they are as a team under the previous Stuttgart manager. Nevertheless, they are obviously still inconsistent.
