Pioli’s once-resilient team has conceded 7 goals in the past 4 games after giving up only a single goal in 6 games from September 19th to October 7th, including goalless draws in Group F against Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle United. A loss would severely jeopardize their hopes of finishing in the top two if either team wins at Signal Iduna Park. As it stands, however, the two-point Rossoneri are now within striking distance of both the German powerhouses and the Magpies. The 7-time champions have now gone 5 matches with no goal in the Champions League, and they could potentially lose three straight home matches against top-tier European teams for the very first time ever.
