On the other side, Framber Valdez will be the one starting for the Houston Astros. Throughout 13 starts, Valdez holds a 7-3 record with a 2.78 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP over 81 innings pitched. The 28-year-old lefty was last seen on the mound on Friday, when he picked up the win against the Chicago White Sox after going 6 innings and allowing 3 runs on 8 hits and striking out 7 while walking none.
This is turning out to be one of the most exciting series we’ve seen in quite a while as the pitching matchups throughout the whole thing look very interesting, and this opening game is for sure going to deliver a lot of action.
