Braves Analysis: They’ve won 2 consecutive matches
Wednesday night’s game between the Boston Red Sox and the Braves went well. In six scoreless innings against his previous team, left-hander Chris Sale struck out a season-high 10 batters, leading the Atlanta Braves to a 5-0 victory. In the fifth, Nimmo tied the score at three with a three-run home run off of Miles Mikolas, a 440-foot drive to straight away center field. Nimmo, who drove home the winning run on Monday, also denied Nolan Gorman a single in the fourth inning with a diving catch in the outfield. The Mets loaded the bases with 11 batters in the fifth inning, with Nimmo’s home run marking the 3rd of six consecutive hits to begin the inning. Pete Alonso snapped slumps of 1 for 32 and 2 for 39 with a 2-run double and a run scored on Martinez’s single to give New York a 6-3 lead.
