The worrying thing is that Lyles might find himself struggling against the Mariners’ offense as they are more dangerous than some numbers may suggest. He is currently holding a 3-4 record with a 4.26 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP.
Lyles didn’t factor into the decision of the Orioles loss against the Boston Red Sox on Saturday, where he gave 3 runs away on 9 hits and 1 walk while striking out 3 of the Red Sox batters, he threw 4 innings. If Lyles manages to put up a good performance against the Mariners, it’s safe to say that he might be able to secure the last victory of the series.
