Today, two American League teams close out a wraparound weekend series in the Twin Cities. The Texas Rangers are on the road as they play the Minnesota Twins in the finale of a four-game series Monday night. Minnesota is currently in a tough position, especially after losing the way they did yesterday, and if they want to split the series they’ll have to play their best.
Texas is sending out Cole Ragans to the mound, making this his 4th start of the season and the first time he pitches against the Twins in his career. He is holding a 0-2 record with a 5.02 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP over 14.1 innings pitched while striking out 7. Minnesota replies back with Sonny Gray, who is making his 19th start of the season. The 32-year-old carries a 7-3 record with a 3.11 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP over 89.2 innings pitched while striking out 89.
