The second half of the NBA season will begin on Thursday night with a cross-conference matchup between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Philadelphia 76ers. The Grizzlies won three of their previous four games going into the All-Star break, and on February 15, Memphis defeated the Utah Jazz 117-111. Philadelphia, meanwhile, has won four straight games and upset the Cleveland Cavaliers 118–112 on Wednesday.
Given that the Grizzlies are now ranked No. 2 in the Western Conference, it’s difficult to consider the first half of the NBA season anything other than a success for them. Although shooting 42.4% from distance, the Sixers’ offense was ineffective.
