NBA Regular Season Wins
Even though the Boston Celtics have had their preseason projections take a big hit both here and the NBA championship odds following Ime Udoka’s surprising suspension, they still sit with the highest win total Over/Under for 2022-23.
Despite that, there are still a couple of teams that might be able to overcome the Celtics, so let’s see which teams are looking like the favorites to amass the highest number of regular season wins!
Boston Celtics (53½ at -115)
While they couldn’t secure the championship and their head coach Udoka was suddenly suspended, there’s a lot to love about the state of the Boston Celtics.
Their talented core of Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart, Robert Williams III and Al Horford remains intact, while the front office addressed the only other significant hole on the roster, a true point guard, with the addition of Malcolm Brogdon, who is joining from the Indiana Pacers.
Milwaukee Bucks (53½ at -115)
Next up on the board at 52.5 wins are the NBA champions from two years ago, the Milwaukee Bucks.
Despite somewhat of a downfall in the regular season a year ago, the Bucks looked more than ready to win another championship. Unfortunately for them, a Khris Middleton injury held them back in their second-round series with the Celtics.
But if we take everything into consideration, their core of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday, and Middleton are more than capable of getting back into the mid-50s.
Los Angeles Clippers (52½ at -115)
First of all, for the Los Angeles Clippers, the talent is there but so is massive injury risk. They are sitting with a 52.5-win total, who will be desperate to get back into championship contention with a deep, and also incredibly expensive, roster in 2022-23.
This lineup is starred by former All-NBAers Kawhi Leonard, who hasn’t played since 2020-21, and Paul George, with its rotation being filled out by possibly the deepest bench in the entire league.
