NBA DIVISION WINNERS
Atlantic
Simply put, Boston’s roster is too talented over the Celtics in the division. While the Knicks seem good, they lack Boston’s superstars, and the 76ers have internal issues. The Raptors have understandably changed since their run for the 2019 title, but they could be a surprise team and do provide some appeal.
Central
Although the Cavaliers are a strong contender as a playoff club, the Bucks look like the greatest potential to win this division’s championship. Cleveland is poised to be a peripheral contender, but their first-round exit from the previous season may have some supporters second-guessing their support.
Southeast
The Hawks have had a full summer to work with Quin Snyder, and by trading John Collins, they have finally cleared some space in their frontcourt. The Heat looks like thy have the better player of the two teams, but they have lost several important players and will need to adjust a little.
Northwest
Even though the Denver Nuggets are the current NBA champions, they weren’t always the greatest team throughout much of their previous campaign. The remainder of the Western Conference is attempting to take advantage of the inevitable drops that come with a long season in order to dethrone Denver as the top seed in the division.
Pacific
The Pacific Division will have a star-studded lineup for the 2023–24 season, although it’s unclear how unique players like Chris Paul will mesh with their clubs. The Suns, Warriors, and Lakers will try to capture it, while the Clippers will attempt to stay fit and the Kings will want to repeat their success from the previous season.
Southwest
For over a quarter of the campaign, the Memphis Grizzlies’ star player Ja Morant won’t be hindering their quest for a third straight Southwest Division championship. The New Orleans Pelicans have faith that Zion Williamson’s frequently injured 5th NBA season will be the rare complete one. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are making it once again in Dallas, now for an entire six-month period in the regular campaign instead of 2.
