Celtics Analysis: Jason Tatum just scored 22 points
The Boston Celtics‘ season has been incredibly dominating. They had two easy wins in the playoffs, despite suffering a somewhat unexpected loss in their second matchup with the Miami Heat. With 64 wins and 18 defeats, they concluded the regular season as the top seed in the Eastern Conference. It seems that the Boston Celtics struggled with both their strategy and their approach in the second game with Bam Adebayo. They weren’t at their best offensively or defensively, but they turned things around in the following game. They showed from the beginning of the game that they were serious about it, and double-teaming Tyler Herro was a great strategy because it stopped the Miami Heat’s main offensive threat.
Heat Analysis: Coming off a 20-point loss
In front of their home fans, the Miami Heat struggled in the second game after managing to secure a break against the Boston Celtics. With a record of 46 wins and 36 losses at the end of the regular season, they qualified for the playoffs by winning against the Chicago Bulls and losing to the Philadelphia 76ers in the play-in round. Erik Spoelstra’s tactical acumen was ineffective in this game. It didn’t last a long time, but starting guard Jayson Tatum instead of Bam Adebayo was a smart move. Tatum didn’t have a response for that initial tactic, as evidenced by the result of the previous game. Tatum frequently stays with another player during pick-and-roll and pick-and-pop plays, which the Celtics used to effectively move the ball in the third game.
