The Lakers‘ destiny was determined this week with their 2nd straight loss, and they will now advance to the play-in round of the Western Conference Playoffs. With two games left in the conference schedule, the Lakers are now in ninth position. Their place at the top of the standings is the only thing that is still up for debate. The Golden State Warriors’ long-range shooting defeated the Lakers on Tuesday night, 134-120. The Warriors made 26 3-pointers during the game, which is a record for the most points the Lakers have ever given up in a single contest. After winning the season series, Golden State currently has the tiebreaker advantage over LA, as the two teams are now tied in the loss column.
Grizzlies Analysis: Currently on a 3-game losing streak
The Grizzlies come into this game on a 3-game losing run; their most recent defeat came on Wednesday, 110-98 against the Cavaliers. The Grizzlies are giving younger players more playing time to finish the season, and Jake LaRavia put up a tremendous performance with 32 points, shooting 8 of 11 3-pointers. Memphis has struggled mightily this season due to injuries and suspensions, but for the younger guys, this is their opportunity to demonstrate that they have what it takes to play in the NBA for a longer period of time. Against Cleveland, GG Jackson scored 22 points, and Scotty Pippen Jr. contributed 18 points. LaRavia is only averaging 9.8 points per game this season, but over the course of four games in April, he is averaging 16.3 points in 31.5 minutes.
