Despite only scoring 14 points on Saturday, the 25-year-old small forward has averaged 21.3 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game. In his two games versus the Magic this season, he has averaged 15 points.
Magic Analysis: Paolo Banchero is leading this team
The Magic are riding high after winning 3 consecutive games and winning a home-and-home series versus the Raptors the previous weekend. The Magic struggled to gain any ground on the tenacious Raptors, shooting just 50% from the field and making 11 of 36 three-pointers collectively. However, in the 3rd quarter, they went on an explosive 35-point run, leading by as many as 20 points at one point. Paolo Banchero scored 29 points, pulled down 6 rebounds, and dished 5 assists to help Orlando overcome Toronto 111-96 in their last game. The Magic are now the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference after going 8-2 over their previous 10 games. This season, Franz Wagner has added 20.1 points per game to Banchero’s average of 22.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 5.3 assists. Banchero was the NBA Rookie of the Year last season.
