Rockets Analysis: They haven’t lost in 10 straight matches
With ten straight victories going into Friday, the Rockets, who have been the hottest team in the league this month, seem to have no limits. They are still competitive in the Western Conference and must continue to win if they are to catch up to the Warriors or any team that is currently ranked in the play-in round. The Thunder, Cavaliers, and Kings are all formidable playoff teams, so the victories have also come against some elite opponents. The concern is that they will have to travel for this game, and given their 11–24 record away from home this season, there are questions about their ability to maintain their current level of performance.
Jazz Analysis: They now hold a seven game losing streak
The Utah Jazz, meanwhile, have been in a terrible slump, having dropped 10 of their previous 11 games overall. They will be looking to snap a 7-game losing streak after losing 118-111 to the Spurs on Wednesday. Lauri Markkanen scored 25 points, John Collins scored 18 points on 5 of ten shots, and Collin Sexton paced the team with 26 points and 9 assists. The Jazz had trouble finding their offense early on and secured just 15 points in the 1st quarter, falling behind by 19 points before finishing with a flurry in the 4th quarter to keep the final scores a bit respectable. As a team, they shot 47% from the field and 13 of 35 from the 3-point line.
