The Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakers lock horns Friday night at Crypto.com Arena in LA with the tip-off at 10:30 PM ET. Jordan Clarkson dropped 22 points on the Mavs, going 4-for-9 from beyond the arc. Collin Sexton added 19 points off the bench, but the Jazz couldn’t cope with Luka Doncic, who finished with 33 points and 11 assists.
Just five days ago, the Los Angeles Lakers (2-5) were the last winless team in the NBA. Since then, the Lakers have won two straight games at home, outlasting the Denver Nuggets 121-110 and New Orleans Pelicans 120-117 in overtime. Matt Ryan hit a crazy triple from the corner to beat the regulation buzzer last Wednesday, and the Lakers outscored the Pels 9-6 in overtime.
Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis accounted for 20 points against New Orleans, while Lonnie Walker led the way with 28 points (5-for-9 from deep) and a plus-8 net rating in 40 minutes on the floor.
The Jazz love to share the ball, but they are also turning the ball over way too much (16.2 per 100 possessions). Utah will struggle against LA’s defense, while the Lakers are slowly but surely turning the corner on the offensive side of the ball, so we can expect a very close game this Friday as the Lakers look to continue their winning streak.
