Ray’Sean Taylor paces the team in assists this season with 2.5 assists per game and 13.3 points per game with 3.7 rebounds per game, while Shamar Wright tops SIU-Edwardsville in scoring with 15.3 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game. Along with 2.5 assists per game, Damarco Minor leads the Cougars in rebounding with 13 points per game and a team-high 8.7 rebounds per game. During the current campaign, SIU-Edwardsville averages 72.2 points per game while shooting 44% from the field, 36% from three, and 70.1% from the foul line. The Cougars’ offense has been mediocre but better than that of Eastern Illinois; conversely, SIU’s defense has performed worse, allowing 69 points per contest.
