Predictions & Analysis: Cal Baptist vs Oregon 12-12-2023

Game Preview

Game Preview

On Tuesday, December 12th, the 2023–24 the NCAA basketball season will resume with California Baptist and Oregon playing in a non-conference match at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, OR.

When the Oregon Ducks compete in the PAC12 conference in January, this is not the roster that will be on the court. This is due to the fact that the Ducks have struggled this season due to significant injuries in their front court, which includes 7-0 big Nate Bittle and 6-11 center N’Faly Dante, two possible PAC12 Players of the Year. Dante, who pulled down 21 rebounds in his only game so far versus Georgia, will be back with the team in late December, while Bittle won’t be back until January. Furthermore, Jesse Zarzuela, a sharpshooting transferring guard from Central Michigan, would be out indefinitely due to an ankle issue. The Ducks defeated the UTEP Miners 71-49 in their most recent matchup. With 18, Couisnard led all scorers, and the team’s field goal percentage was 54.5%. The Ducks, on the other hand, had trouble making baskets from behind the arc, making only 23.5% of them.

The Lancers are trying to record their second straight winning season in the conference as the reconstituted WAC enters its third season. Coach Rick Croy, in his sixth year at the institution, has reloaded the roster in order to aid his one returning starter, Hunter Goodrick, maintain performance even though the club lost a lot of its scoring output from the previous campaign.  In their two conference games thus far, the Lancers have defeated Southern Utah of Cedar City but fallen short against St. George’s Utah Tech. With 91 points in the game versus the Southern Utah Thunderbirds, Cal Baptist tallied the most points of the season. It was a heartbreaking defeat, losing 72-69 in an exciting contest against Utah Tech. Guard Dominique Daniels, who leads the Lancers in scoring, finished the match with 30 points and 4 assists, surpassing his previous high of 18 points per contest.
