Predictions and Analysis: Florida vs Alabama Feb 21, 2024

Game Preview

Florida vs Alabama Game Preview

College basketball action takes place at Coleman Coliseum on February 21 between the Florida Gators (18-7) and the Alabama Crimson Tide (18-7). This article contains an in depth basketball analysis about this upcoming contest.

Florida Analysis: Looking to get to top 4

The Florida Gators defeated Georgia 88-82 in their last game to raise their record to 18-7. The victory was the 3rd consecutive for the Gators, who had just defeated LSU 82-80 thanks to an all-too-tough victory in which their defense gave up 46 points in the 2nd half. Walter Clayton Jr. led 5 Gators in double figures with 21 points on Saturday. Versus the Bulldogs, Thomas Haugh scored a career-high 17 points and pulled down 7 boards as the Gators made a stronger comeback. In two weeks, the Gators will again be vying for a top four spot in the SEC Tournament. A team that finishes in the top four gets a double-bye and a greater opportunity to win the championship.

Alabama Analysis: Coming off a huge win

The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Texas A&M Aggies 100-75 at home in their last game, vaulting them into the top spot in the SEC alone. The Crimson Tide, who have scored 100 points for the 8th time this season, buried 18 three-pointers to almost win the game handily. This figure denotes the most games with 100 points in over three decades of collegiate basketball play. With 23 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals, Mark Sears paced the Tide. Other double-digit scorers for the Tide included Aaron Estrada and Sam Walters with 11 points, Latrell Wrightsell Jr. with 16 points, and Rylan Griffen with 17. After going 10-2 in conference play this year, the Crimson Tide are in a terrific position to secure a double-bye in the SEC Tournament.
