In order to get an NCAA tournament bid, North Carolina State had to win 5 games in a row in the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament to begin its March Madness run. The Wolfpack became the first team from a double-digit seed to win the ACC title, defeating teams from Louisville, Syracuse, Duke, Virginia, and North Carolina. Texas Tech Analysis: Coming off a 23-point loss
Texas Tech won’t be an easy out in the NCAA tournament, even though it didn’t go as far as it wanted to in the ACC tournament. Before falling to Houston, TTU was on a 4-game winning streak and had won 9 consecutive matches through December and January. The Red Raiders are a proven offensive unit with plenty of playing experience. This season, they finished 33rd in terms of strength of schedule, defeating Texas, BYU (twice), Kansas, TCU, and Baylor, all of whom qualified for the tournament. The previous game saw Texas Tech play Houston, and they won handily. Texas Tech’s defense allowed 82 points to be scored while scoring 59 points. They managed to win 81-67 versus BYU two games prior.
