Belmont Analysis: On a 3-game winning run
Belmont defeated Evansville at home in the final game of the regular season, having won 7 of the previous 8 matches, including the final 3. The Bruins finished the regular season with an overall record of 19-12 and with a 12-8 record in MVC play. Belmont fell behind Evansville 8–0 at the beginning of the game and continued to trail by 8 until finishing the half on a 29–9 run to lead by 12 at the break. In order to win, the Bruins led by as much as 26 points in the 2nd half. Belmont restricted Evansville to 36.8% shooting for the game while shooting 50% from the field, especially 11 of 27 from three-point range.
