Leading the Seahawks and earned First Team All-Conference in the NEC, 6’4 junior Melvin Council Jr. averages 14.6 points per game, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists.

In the MEAC Tournament, the Howard Bison started as the #4 seed and went on a remarkable journey to win the conference championship. They defeated Delaware State in the championship game after upsetting Norfolk State, the top-seeded team, in the semifinals. Howard enters the tournament riding high, having won 7 of their previous 8 matches. Their only defeat came away from home in the regular season finale against Norfolk State. Jordan Hairston, a guard, led Howard with 18 points in the championship game. The MEAC Conference presented accolades to 3 of Howard’s players. Marcus Dockery made the Second Team, Bryce Harris made the First Team All-Conference, and Seth Towns made the Third Team.
