In Week 10, the San Francisco 49ers (6-3) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-5) managed to snap their losing streaks. In Week 11, they will attempt to begin a winning run together.
Although Brock Purdy had some poor turnover variation, his down to earth efficiency remained outstanding despite his brief period of trouble. Jacksonville was just defeated 34 points by San Francisco, and Tampa’s defense is no longer what it once was. Prior to that, Tampa lost to the Texans and allowed an alternate rookie signal-caller to score 39 points. The 49ers easily dispelled any doubts about them being a potential Super Bowl contender by defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars 34-3 on the road. Apart from Christian McCaffrey failing to find the end zone, San Francisco executed a flawless game, and recently signed Chase Young demonstrated the defense’s frightening potential for opponents.
Over the past two weeks, Baker Mayfield continues to be quietly putting up big numbers, having an average of 9.2 yards per attempt. During his past 3 matches, he has 6 touchdowns and just a single interception. Additionally, he is now up against a 49ers defense which is far weaker than it was a year ago. Although it was good to add Chase Young before the trade deadline, San Francisco is currently in even greater need of a cornerback. The 49ers defense had been having a lot of trouble before their victory over the Jaguars the previous week. They were thoroughly outmatched by Kirk Cousins and Joe Burrow in their last two matches. In a dominating victory over the Tennessee Titans, Tampa Bay managed to put together a full game after suffering multiple tight losses. The defense stopped another rookie quarterback from exploiting them, stopping Will Levis from reaching the end zone 4 times while sacking him.
