On Friday in Serie A, Genoa will host Salernitana at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. The previous game saw the hosts lose 2-0 on the road against Atalanta, which was their 5th defeat of the campaign. In addition to missing several important players, Genoa has had trouble lately against some of the strongest sides in Serie A. Alberto Gilardino and his team will likely be looking forward to a home match against Salernitana, a team that has no wins. It never seemed like the Grifone would win the previous weekend’s match versus Atalanta. In reality, Genoa has scored a greater number of goals than the majority of the teams in the lower part of the standings, and they will be trying to score on Friday.
Conversely, Salernitana is still having trouble in their 3rd campaign competing in the Italian elite division. Boulaye Dia may be the reason for their optimism over Genoa after two late goals helped them salvage a draw versus Cagliari the previous weekend. However, the current campaign hasn’t seen many goals to be happy about, and the Granata possess the poorest defensive mark in Serie A. Although Pippo Inzaghi is going to try to change that quite soon, the visitors could experience yet another dismal weekend. Here, Inzaghi will try to take advantage of the hosts’ numerous injury absences.
