Udinese have primarily occupied the bottom or middle half of the league standings over the last ten years. They had one of their poorest starts to the season this year, finishing just 2 points out of the relegation zone in 16th position with just 12 points. The club made an attempt to turn around its dismal performance by changing the head coach after the October international recess. While Jaka Bijol, Brenner, and Gerard Deulofeu are still sidelined due to injuries, Isaac Success is a serious doubt. It is surprising because in their first 14 games, they had only won once. They have, however, only suffered 4 losses while recording a league-high 9 ties. After winning their first game of the season at the beginning of November, Udinese has drawn two more times, once against Verona and once against Atalanta, before losing to Roma.
