At the moment, they sit in seventh place, four points behind Roma in 5th and 3 points below Bologna in 4th place.
Inter Analysis: Still leaders in Serie A
Simone Inzaghi faced criticism for the changes he made during Wednesday’s Inter Milan defeat to Atletico Madrid. Managers are typically hesitant to switch off their defenders, but Inzaghi did so after his team had a 2-1 aggregate advantage. Federico Dimarco gave Inter a 1-0 lead going into the game, while Antoine Griezmann gave Atletico a response a few minutes later. Inzaghi replaced Denzel Dumfries, Alessandro Bastoni, and Dimarco with Inter leading by one goal. From that point on, Inter became overly cautious, and Memphis Depay gave Atletico an equalizer. Inter Milan lost 3-2 in the penalty shootout after converting only 2 of their 5 attempts after a blank extra time period. With ten games remaining, Inter leads by sixteen points and can win the Scudetto the following month. Despite missing his assigned kick on Wednesday, Lautaro Martinez has been among the top players in Serie A thus far this year. The captain of Inter has scored 23 goals, the most in the league. The Nerazzurri’s scoring streak of eighteen games is still going strong.
