The primary goal for Die Schwaben this season for manager Sebastian Hoeness will be to avoid relegation trouble altogether after finishing 15th last year and narrowly avoiding a relegation play-off on goal difference. This will provide a more stable environment for the team’s players and fans.
Having already beaten VfL Bochum and Freiburg by a combined score of 15-0, the former Hoffenheim manager appears to be well on his way to entertaining his new fans.
Their lone loss so far this season was a 5–0 drubbing at the hands of RB Leipzig, but they will travel to Cologne on Saturday full of confidence in extending their surprising excellent run of form with a fourth consecutive victory.
