Champions League Golden Boot
Erling Haaland (+120) of Manchester City scored 36 times in 35 Premier League games last season, easily winning the Golden Boot award. Will he be able to maintain that pace once again this year?
Manchester City entered the 2023–24 Premier League season as heavy favorites to win the league, and it came as no surprise that Erling Haaland was the early favorite to lead all scorers once again.
Norwegian striker who, in his first season in England, scored more goals (36) in the Premier League than Alan Shearer had in any of his EPL campaigns(34).
With six goals in four games many games to open the season, Haaland is confident he can surpass that total in 2023/24 and may even have the elusive 40-goal mark in his sights.
Although the Premier League’s most consistent goal scorers prior to Haaland’s arrival were Tottenham’s Harry Kane (+400) and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, the latter will now be torturing Bundesliga defenses as a member of Bayern Munich.
Salah is still an integral part of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s plans, and he has been impressive so far this season. He had a goal disallowed for offside in a 1-1 draw with Chelsea and scored in a 3-1 victory over Bournemouth at Anfield.
With 19, 23, 22, 19, 22, and 32 league goals in his first six seasons with Liverpool, the Egypt striker is widely regarded as one of the biggest threats to Haaland in the Golden Boot race.
Rasmus Hojlund (+8000), a major offseason addition to Manchester United, is expected to make his club debut on Sunday against Arsenal. Hojlund scored nine goals in twenty Serie A starts for Atalanta last season.
However, the Danish rookie has limited experience at the professional level and may require some time to get into full swing after missing the first three games of the season due to a preseason back ailment.
