Even though it has been eleven years since their last meeting, Simeone will never forget leading Atleti to victory over the club he won the Serie A and Coppa Italia double with.
Atletico Madrid hoisted the Europa League trophy at the end of that season, but they have yet to win La Liga. In 2014 and 2016, they lost the final to their city rivals Real Madrid, therefore they have yet to win La Liga. Los Colchoneros are aiming for their fourth participation in the finals overall, but they must do so on the back of an unexpected result.
