Top 4
Last season, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla all made up the top four teams in La Liga, and it wouldn’t be that crazy to see them being able to repeat the feat this upcoming season as well.
It’s hard to say that a team with the likes of this season’s Ballon d’Or favorite Karim Benzem, Champions League final Man of the Match Thibaut Courtois, and match-winner in Paris, Vinicius Junior is not going to easily secure a top-4 finish this season. That’s why Real Madrid (-1000) is the favorite team to sneak into the top of the standings.
With Robert Lewandoski (-800) joining the Barcelona squad, it would be incredibly surprising to see this team not make it into the top-4. While they were 13 points behind Real Madrid in the standings, Barcelona was still quite ahead of the rest of the competition last season, and nothing indicates that they’ll be in a worse position this time.
Atletico Madrid (-300) is a much trickier team. While they are still most likely going to reach the top-4, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if they end up deflating towards the end of the season. They acquired Nahuel Molina from Serie A’s Udinese for a €20.00m fee, but that’s not enough to see them securing a top-2 finish.
On the bottom of the list we can find Sevilla (+125), a team that barely made it into the top-4 last season. They ended up with 5 more points than Real Betis, the team trailing them in the standings.
Sevilla’s biggest hope for a safe top-4 finish is that Monchi ends up doing some magic outside of the field and brings some good reinforcements into the team, but other than that, a top-4 is going to be their maximum objective.
