Milwaukee Brewers vs New York Mets: Predictions & Analysis 6/15/2022

June 15, 2022

Game Preview

Yesterday, Milwaukee took a 4-0 loss against the New York Mets at Citi Field, but today they’ll try to turn things around. The Milwaukee Brewers don’t feel that confident while playing away from home as they have won 19 out of their 36 away games.

On the other hand, the New York Mets are holding a 41-22 overall record and their 20-8 record while playing at home is even more impressive. It’s going to be a tough challenge for the Brewers to come back into this series, and that’s just if we consider the pitching matchup for today’s game.

The New York Mets will send out David Peterson as their starting pitcher, making his 7th start of the season and 9th appearance overall. Peterson holds a flawless 3-0 record with a 3.00 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP over 36 innings pitched, making him a huge threat for the Brewers.

The 26-year-old left-handed pitcher was last seen on the mound in the Mets’ win against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday, where he picked up his 3rd win of the season. Peterson gave 1 run away on 3 hits, 1 of those being a home run while striking out 3 of the Angels batters over 2.2 innings pitched.

Making his 13th start of the season, Corbin Burnes will be opening things up for the Milwaukee Brewers. Burnes holds a 3-4 record while posting a 2.48 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP over 72.2 innings pitched. His numbers will give the Brewers’ fans some hope, though the last time we saw him on the mound the Brewers picked up a loss.

On Thursday, Burnes couldn’t contain the Philadelphia Phillies offense as he allowed 3 runs on 3 hits and 4 walks while striking out 8 over 4.1 innings. We’ve seen Burnes struggle throughout June as he’s allowed 17 baserunners and 8 runs across 8 innings over 2 starts, hopefully he’ll be able put up a better performance against the Mets.
