In the National League, where they have to deal with teams as strong as the Padres, Giants, Brewers and their rivals for tonight and the weekend, Mets, the Dodgers are playing like they don’t necessarily need to grasp the concept of real competition which is what makes them both a great team and a serious threat all around.
The Mets, well the Mets are just as good as the Dodgers, but given that they lost their first game of the series last night, the edge goes to LA momentarily. If we had to pinpoint the only true difference between both teams, it might be that the Mets don’t have as much depth in their pitching department as the Dodgers, but still, if the Mets find their groove tonight, they might end up taking the Dodgers for a ride that could end up in a loss. For the Mets the key here is very simple, they need their starter Chris Bassitt to pitch some very good baseball tonight, at least 6 or 7 innings of strong ball. If he can do that, the offense should be able to shine through and collect a W for NY here, but if they don’t hit the ground running from the get-go, it will be lights out for the Mets once again tonight.,
