Alek Thomas is also participating as a driver in a number of runs. In the past seven days, he hit a home run and drove in six runs. In those games, Thomas had a.294 batting average,.316 on-base percentage, 2 steals, and 2 runs scored.
Tonight, Jose Butto will take the mound for the Mets. He has a 3.86 earned run average and is 0-2. In his previous start against the Nationals, he lasted 6.1 innings while allowing six hits and two runs (both earned). It was his first start since April and his longest of the season.
Jose Butto’s front line stats are good, but he’s been taking a lot of punishment recently. Walking has been another problem for him for the majority of this year. Although he played well in his previous game, there is no evidence to suggest he will do so again tonight.
