If the Mariners are to make it to the postseason, their lineup needs to perform better. They struck out the 2nd highest number of times and had the 20th highest hits overall. Luis Castillo, is scheduled to start Opening Day for the Mariners. Castillo finished the previous season with a 13-9 overall record as well as a 3.34 ERA.
