Prior to the previous week, Gomber had dropped 3 consecutive matches and recorded 5 starts with no a victory. Despite having only 71 pitches, the Rockies provided him with sufficient run support to earn the victory. On the night, the lefty struck out 3 batters while giving up a single base on ball.
