The AFCON matchup between Mali and Tunisia, who had been predicted to be the top sides in Group E, was eagerly anticipated. In their last game, the teams battled it out in a close 1-1 tie. Mali took the lead in the tenth minute through a spectacular left-footed goal by Lassine Sinayoko, assisted by Kamory Doumbia. However, the lead was short lived as Tunisia tied the score after ten minutes. That came after a great opening match of the tournament against South Africa, when they were fortunate to win 2-0 despite Tau missing a penalty kick with the score tied at zero. Mali have been eliminated in the Round of 16 in the last 2 competitions, and they have been ousted from group stages four times in the past 8 AFCON competitions. With 3 goals during the Africa Cup of Nations, Kamory Doumbia is the man the visitors are hoping to see.
