They will be looking to get back to their previous level of play after losing 97-89 to the 76ers in their last game. Miles Bridges topped the squad with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 assists. Brandon Miller contributed 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. The Hornets played strong defense to stay in the game until the 4th quarter, when they managed to score 91 points despite shooting just 41 percent from the floor overall and 9 of 37 from three. Charlotte will face the pistons after this game. The Hornets are fully healthy going into their matchup with the Timberwolves, and they will probably open with the same lineup that they used versus the Spurs.
Before the Thunder dropped them cold in a 102-97 loss in their last game, the Minnesota Timberwolves were on a 4-game winning streak and were in excellent shape. Jaden McDaniels contributed 15 points, Naz Reid (18 points off the bench), Anthony Edwards (19 points) and Karl-Anthony Towns (19 points). The Timberwolves, who had taken control of the 3rd quarter to overcome a 16-point disadvantage and edge by 12 points, shot merely 41% from the field overall and 14 of 37 from 3-point range. However, they were outscored 28–14 in the 4th quarter, suffering one of their most agonizing losses of the season. The Timberwolves are likely to go with the same 5 players that they have been using. This won’t be an easy game for the Timberwolves if they take it for granted.
