Hawks Analysis: They’ve lost 6 straight games
As the tenth and final seed going into the Eastern Conference Play-In Tournament, the Atlanta Hawks are definitely not playing their best basketball. With 7 losses in their final ten games and 6 losses in a row, the Hawks concluded the season. They were only 36-36 overall and 15-26 away from home at the end of the season. For the playoffs, they will benefit from having All-Star point guard Trae Young back and in good health. Despite missing 28 games in the regular season, Young helped the squad to a respectable 14-14 record. He participated in the final 3 games of the season, accumulating more minutes with each outing. The Hawks are making their 3rd consecutive trip to the Play-In Tournament.
Bulls Analysis: Coming off 1-point overtime win
The Chicago Bulls, meanwhile, have been struggling as they have dropped 8 of their last 13 games overall. They will be looking to turn things around after losing badly to the Knicks on Sunday, 120-119 in overtime. With 30 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals, DeMar DeRozan led the way. Nikola Vucevic followed with 29 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists. Coby White finished with 26 points on 12 of 18 shots. The Bulls gave up an 8-point lead in the 4th quarter and allowed the Knicks to tie the game. In overtime, DeRozan missed the game-winning shot with just 2.1 seconds remaining, but the team still managed to shoot 48% from the field and 8 of 31 from three points.
