The Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Detroit Pistons on Monday, October 30th. This game will take place at Paycom Center in Oklahoma.
Detroit arrives after defeating the Bulls 118-102 at home on Saturday evening. Sunday afternoon’s game between Oklahoma City and the Nuggets was the first half of a consecutive set which they lost 128-95. In their previous meeting, the Thunder came from behind to defeat the Cavaliers 108-105 away from home on Friday evening.
Oklahoma City close their consecutive set in this game, after losing on Sunday afternoon when they welcomed the Nuggets during a Northwest Division match. The Thunder were tied for first place in the Northwest Division with the Nuggets going into Sunday after starting the season 2-0. Because of their result in their last game, OKC stand in second place in their division.
It was the Thunder’s home opener when they were held below 100 for the initial occasion this campaign. With 19 points, Chet Holmgren topped the Thunder, but he only pulled down 4 rebounds. The Thunder were outrebounded by almost twenty and only made eighteen percent of their long-range attempts. Despite just scoring 7 points, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 7 assists.
After losing by a single point on the road against Miami in the first game of the season, Detroit defeated the Bulls at home on Saturday evening to claim their second consecutive win. With a 2-1 record on the year, the Pistons are now tied for 2nd place within the Central Division, one game below the Pacers.
Thanks to a solid 23 and 15 performance by Jalen Duren, Detroit managed to hold off the Bulls. He added a pair of blocks as well. The sole additional Piston with a minimum of 20 points was Cade Cunningham, who also recorded a double-double with 25 points plus 10 assists. The Pistons only managed 8 steals despite shooting 49% from beyond the arc. Off the bench, Alec Burks scored 18 more points.
