In their unsuccessful effort, UC-Santa Barbara’s squad shot 51.9% from the floor, 40% from three, plus 70.6% from the foul line. The Gauchos finished the previous season in the initial round of the NCAA Tournament after winning the Big West Conference Championship Tournament. 49.6% from their 2022–2023 scoring roster was returned.
