Game Preview

Game Preview

This week starts with a college basketball showdown. The San Francisco Dons and the New Mexico Lobos will face off at Michelob Ultra Arena, Las Vegas. The game is scheduled for 11:30 PM ET.

The Dons are coming off a win against the Merrimack Warriors with a final score of 69-51. The defense held the Warriors to 37% shooting from the field and just 11% from the three-point line and the icing on the cake, they grabbed 24 more rebounds.

The offense was led by Volodymyr Markovetskyy, with 19 points and seven rebounds. He was followed by Tyrell Roberts and Zane Meeks with 12 points each. The offense averaged 105 points per 100 possessions, shooting 43% from the field and 31% from the three-point line. While the defense allowed 99 points, shooting 42% from the field and 30% from downtown.

On the other hand, the Lobos are coming off a home win over the UTSA Roadrunners. It was not an overwhelming victory as the fans would have liked, but the Lobos had a very good performance. They shot 50% from the field and dished out 16 assists. The offense was led by Morriz Udeze and his 24 points and 8 rebounds. Jamal Mashburn also chipped in with another 18 points and Jaelen House with another 21.

New Mexico is averaging 110 points per game on 49% shooting from the field and 33% from the three point line. While the defense is allowing only 100 points of which 40% is from the field and 35% from downtown.

No doubt it will be an interesting game. The Dons defend very well, but the Lobos also know how to penetrate a good defense. The Dons will surely want to keep the Lobos away from the three point line, but this may not be enough to slow down their offense.
