Hofstra Analysis: On a 4-game winning streak
With a commanding 81-49 victory over NC A&T on the road in their last game, the scorching Hofstra Pride continued their winning streak. Throughout the game, NC A&T was held to less than 30% shooting by the Pride, who shot over 50% from the field. Leading the way with a career-high 20 points, German Plotnikov was one of the Pride’s four double-figure scorers. Tyler Thomas scored 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, recording his first double-double of the year. Nine minutes into the contest, Hofstra surged out to a 16-2 lead and never looked back. The team’s victory was its 7th in 8 games and its 4th in a row.
Drexel Analysis: Currently lost 3 games consecutively
The Drexel Dragons were defeated 80-70 against the College of Charleston in their last game, their 4th defeat in 5 games and their 3rd in a row. The Dragons’ defeat lowered them to 15-10 and removed them from a 1st-place tie with Delaware and Charleston. After letting Charleston shoot 57% from the field for the game, Drexel fell behind early in the 2nd half and was unable to maintain the lead. With 8 rebounds and twenty points, Amari Williams topped the Dragons. He shot 9 out of 18 to end the game. In a game where the Dragons hit only 5-of-19 outside the arc, Luke House scored 12 points. Even though the Dragons’ 3-game losing skid has knocked them out of 1st place, they are still only one game behind Hofstra going into this match.
