On December 28, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the Miami Hurricanes will play in Yankee Stadium’s Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl.
In their most recent game, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights fell to Maryland 42–24. In the defeat, QB Gavin Wimsatt completed 165 yards of passing with one score and one interception. They nevertheless managed to secure the 6 victories required for bowl eligibility in spite of that losing streak. The Scarlet Knights are hoping to win in a bowl game for the first time since 2014. This will be their second bowl participation in the previous 9 seasons. Although their defense is excellent, Maryland managed to score 42 points against them.
With a 7–5 record, the Miami Hurricanes concluded the season ninth in the ACC. Having an average of 450 total yards of offense per game, Miami ranks 31st in the nation. Miami scores 32 points a night on average.The Miami Hurricanes crushed Boston College 45–20 in their latest encounter. QB Tyler Van Dyke completed passes for 290 yards and two scores. Van Dyke has 12 interceptions, 1 rushing touchdown, and 19 passing touchdowns. With 993 receiving yards this season, wide receiver Xavier Restrepo tops Miami. They climbed to #17 in the top-25 after going 4-0 in the beginning. The Hurricanes managed to secure a bowl game despite their poor performance in the last stretch of the season, and they now have a chance to close up a very bad season on a high note. Their offense must perform as effectively as it did versus Boston College since they will face a formidable Rutgers defense.
