Oklahoma will only be playing in the Alamo Bowl for the second time. The Sooners’ lone other game was versus Oregon in 2021. With rookie quarterback Caleb Williams leading the offense and tossing 3 touchdown passes, the Sooners prevailed 47–32 in that contest. Dillon Gabriel, the standout quarterback for Oklahoma, transferred to Oregon and will not participate in the Alamo Bowl. This season, the redshirt senior had the fourth-highest grade (91.8) among all quarterbacks in the nation. Along with center Andrew Raym and right tackle Tyler Guyton declaring for the NFL draft, left guard Cayden Green entered the transfer portal, meaning the Sooners will be missing 3 of their top offensive linemen.
