On Thanksgiving day November 23rd, the Dallas Cowboys (7-3) and Washington Commanders (4-7) square off at AT&T Stadium.
In Week 11, the Dallas Cowboys handled business, defeating the Carolina Panthers 33-10. Just 187 yards were totaled by the Panthers due to the defense. The Cowboys have won their last 3 games by a combined total of 23 points or more. After 10 games this season, quarterback Dak Prescott has 2,604 passing yards, which ranks 8th in the NFL. He averages 260.4 yards per game, has a 70.1% completion rate, and has 19 TDs (3rd in the NFL) versus just 6 interceptions. Although it wasn’t a fantastic performance against Carolina, he can do better when facing one of the weakest defenses in the league right now. Dallas’ defense was excellent in the victory, giving up just 13 first downs, forcing two turnovers, and scored on a 30-yard interception. Pro standout cornerback Daron Bland has recorded 38 tackles, 1.0 TFL, and 12 passes deflected in addition to intercepting six passes, four of which he returned for touchdowns (the most in the NFL).
Washington’s 31-19 loss to the New York Giants last game around has resulted in back-to-back losses for them. Quarterback Sam Howell, has become one of the most routine gunslingers in the game. In terms of passing yards per game and passing TDs, he is tied for 6th in the league. Despite his impressive stats, he is currently tied for the league leader in interceptions. He struggled in the loss against New York as he completed 31 of 45 passes for 255 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions and overall in the defeat, Washington lost the ball six times. This doesn’t negate Howell’s ability to be productive against the Cowboys, though. He still has the ability to completely destroy Dallas’ defensive squad, like he did in his prior matches against the Philadelphia Eagles.
