The Las Vegas Raiders host the Green Bay Packers at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas this weekend. The Raiders come into this on a 3-game losing streak while the Packers are looking to go above five hundred. It’s Jimmy Garoppolo and Jordan Love leading the offense for these two teams on Sunday for this Week 5 match between Las Vegas and Green Bay.
The Las Vegas Raiders managed a narrow win against the Denver Broncos to start the season, upsetting bettors that were backing Denver as heavy favorites. It was Jakobi Meyers who scored the final touchdown to give the Raiders the 16-16 score to which they added the extra point for the victory on Week 1. After that, it’s been a series of failures for Las Vegas, losing against the Bills, Steelers and Chargers. The game against Buffalo was especially horrid as the Raiders managed to score a measly 10 points while Buffalo came in with 38. Josh Allen registered 274 passing yards versus Garoppolo’s 185.
It makes sense that oddsmakers can’t pull these teams apart given that the Green Bay Packers and their brand new quarterback hold a 2-2 record coming into this match. Just like the Raiders, Green Bay also surprised a lot of fans in Week 1, taking a solid 38-20 victory in the NFL results against the Bears who were the favorites in that match. The Packers were in good shape in Week 2 in their match against the Falcons but a deadly 13-point 4th quarter by the Falcons turned the scales in their favor. The Packers went on to put a massive comeback against the Saints. They were losing 0-17 by the end of the 3rd quarter and managed to score 18 points in the 4th quarter to take home the victory. After their recent defeat to the Lions, the Packers seem to have what it takes to take on the Raiders but once again, bookies don’t have it too clear.
