This week, the New England Patriots will visit the Mile-High City to play Sunday Night Football against the Denver Broncos.
The Patriots fell 27-17 at home against Kansas City on Sunday, despite having at least slightly improved offensively in the previous two weeks. For New England, Bailey Zappe started at quarterback once more and went 23-for-31 to feed 180 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. The team’s greatest weakness, despite their prior success on that aspect of the football, was still stopping the run. Denver was playing its third away match in 13 days and appeared weary from travel as Detroit ran for 185 yards. Nick Bonitto, the starting linebacker, was hurt and missed it. The Broncos’ offensive yardage was a mere 287 yards. With a home game against the Chargers in Week 17 and an away match to the Raiders in Week 18, they certainly could have a chance at a wild card spot, though they certainly might have to win out.
