In Week 18, the Dallas Cowboys travel to North Englewood to play the Washington Commanders in an attempt to capture the NFC East.
This week, the Dallas Cowboys will play their first away game of the year in Maryland versus the Washington Commanders. After defeating Detroit by one point and securing a postseason berth, Dallas has won 11 of its 16 games so far this season. Dallas’ defensive performance the previous week was acceptable, allowing 19 points while generating two turnovers and permitting only 4 third-down conversions. Dallas was the superior offensive team, accumulating 384 yards and racking up 20 points, 10 of which came in the final quarter. A week before, Dallas’ attack was paced by Dak Prescott, who completed 26 throws for 345 yards along with a pair of touchdowns. Tony Pollard paced all Dallas running backs with 16 rushes for forty-nine yards. With 13 carries for 227 yards and one touchdown, CeeDee Lamb was dominant. Brandin Cooks added 5 receptions for 60 yards along with one touchdown.
The Washington Commanders, who have only 4 victories this year and are on a seven-game losing streak after losing by 17 points to San Francisco the previous week, will be staying at home this week. Washington’s defense was dreadful, allowing just 10 scores, nine of which came throughout the second half from 225 total yards shortly after handing the football over two times. The Commanders’ defense was completely destroyed, allowing 27 points from 408 yards. Throughout the game, Sam Howell completed 17 throws for 169 yards along with a touchdown, doing the heavy lifting for Washington. Antonio Gibson added 19 yards on 14 attempts, while Brian Robinson Jr. led the team in ball carrier efficiency with 9 rushes for 44 yards. Terry McLaurin topped all Commanders receivers with four grabs for 61 yards and a score.
